The Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation offered alms and raised funds at its annual merit-making ceremony.

Vice-President Wichian Pongthawornpinyo hosted the Jan. 23 ceremony at the foundation’s Naklua offices, welcoming nine monks from Chaimongkol Phra Aaramluang Temple for evening prayers. Guests offered alms to monks and donations to the foundation to keep it operating for the coming year.

Sawang Boriboon officials prepared holy rice and water for guests to take home and keep evil at bay. Such rice is usually sprayed around a house in the belief it will keep demons outside.
