Deputy mayors Chaiyathep Bonlert and Traipop Thoswongchai along with Sattahip District Council members presented the rice, dried food, milk diapers and money to Pradit Ootun and Phanida Sae-Chua Jan. 30. Their 16-month-old son Nathakorn Sae-Chua underwent surgery for hydrocephalus treatment last month.

Chaiyathep said the latest donations for little “Nong Game” show the government’s continuing commitment to the boy, one of two Sattahip toddlers suffering from the water-on-the-brain syndrome.
Nathakorn is said to be improving after doctors at Chonburi Hospital drilled a hole in his head an installed a shunt to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid into his bladder. The toddler has become more responsive, his eyes more alert and cramping has decreased, Pradit said.
