Sattahip offers alms to 100 monks for Songkran

Sattahip officials and residents offered alms to 100 monks as part of the region’s official Songkran commemoration.

District chief Phawat Lertmikda, Mayor Narong Bunbancherdsri and Cultural Council President Chaiyathep Bunlert presented meat and sweets to the monks and novices at Chai Talay Pavilion in front of the Sattahip District office April 17.

Narong noted the historical significance of Songkran, explaining that Sattahip pays homage each year to Phra Puttha Sihing Ming Mongkol, the area’s patron saint.
