The construction worker, however, wasn’t the only winner in Sattahip. Supaap Suebchat, 35, an automobile mechanic at Sattahip Kolakan Co., also won 4 million baht.
Pattaya Mail caught up with the new multi-millionaire’s nephew Adisak Thundee, 16, at the construction camp where they live. No doubt they will soon reside in more elaborate surroundings.
Upon learning of their windfalls, both men recorded the winning tickets at Sattahip Police Station, fearing theft or personal danger once people learned of their new millionaire status. Police dispatched officers to watch their residences until morning, when the two went to Bangkok to claim their prizes.
Neither man was answering their telephones, likely due to the large numbers of long lost relatives coming out of the woodwork. But Sathien’s nephew, Adisak Thundee, 16, said his uncle only bought his winning ticket out of pity for the poor lottery seller peddling through his neighborhood.
