A Sattahip mother thanked police for helping find her runaway daughter, who has pledged to study harder and not cause any more problems.

Rossarin Ruangpradap, 32, reported her 16-year-old daughter missing three days after she failed to show up for school.

Her brother, Suthipng Saengpho, 23, told police she’d had a disagreement with her mother and feared returning home to be punished.

When the girl finally turned up Feb. 26, she said that she feared her mother would be angry over her grades for the current term, as they were not up to expectations.

Rossarin presented local police with a flower bouquet to thank them for helping find her daughter, who had gone to stay with a friend in Sriracha.

A notice about the missing girl was published on Facebook and police pursued leads and tips before finally locating her and bringing her back home.

Police also acted as a mediator with the girl’s school to allow her to take final exams that she missed.

The girl said she regretted what happened and apologized to everyone and asked forgiveness. She promised to study hard and be a good daughter and will not do anything like that again.
