Royal Garden Plaza and the Lions Club of Pattaya-Taksin will host a Loy Krathong festival inside the beachfront mall Nov. 28.

The event begins at 9 a.m. and offers those attending a chance to make merit by donating blood to the Thai Red Cross. Organizers also plan a Theppabut Thida Duan Pen (Children of the moon) contest aimed at getting Thai youths to use their free time productively.

Mall Deputy General Manager Somporn Naksuetrong said the event is being organized to promote tourism in Pattaya and preserve Thai tradition.
