Rotary Club of Pattaya awards 140,000 baht in scholarships

The Rotary Club of Pattaya handed out 140,000 baht in scholarships to 70 needy area children.

President Satienpong Kamnon welcomed teachers and students to the club’s 28th scholarship event June 23.

The club donated 55 scholarships to students in 11 Pattaya schools, five at each institution. 15 more scholarships were presented to students at the Redemptorist Vocational School for Persons with Disabilities.

The 70 students each receiving the 2,000 baht stipends were chosen for their good behavior, academic performance and attendance. The recipients also had to be residents of Banglamung District.

Satienpong said the Rotary Club of Pattaya was pleased to support students in developing a quality education. Furthermore, the scholarships generate good morale and encouragement in the students.

Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon thanked the club for its support of Pattaya schools and students. He also congratulated the student recipients.
