Riverine commander takes over navy’s ACDC

The regional head of the Royal Thai Navy’s river-combat troops was named to take over command of Sattahip’s Air and Coastal Defense Command.

Outgoing commander, Capt. Buan Mattawanukul, handed over the leadership flag to Capt. Somprasong Wisoldilokpanth, commander of navy Region 1 Riverine Squadron at an Oct. 9 ceremony.

Capt. Buan thanked ACDC personnel and organizations that had cooperated with the command over his three-year term. He now moves on to become Chief of Staff for the Amphibious Combat Service and Support Squadron.

He urged staff to give full support to Capt. Somprasong to continue the ACDC’s mission of directing, commanding and coordinating the air and coastal assault strategies as well as the Sea Turtle Conservation Center.
