Rayong firm donates floating toilets to navy for Ayutthaya flood relief

Medical-equipment manufacturer Cardinal Health 222 donated 10 floating toilets to the Sattahip-based Air and Coastal Defense Command for deployment in flood-ravaged Ayutthaya.

Managing Director Kasuo Tanaka presented the lavatories to Royal Thai Navy personnel in Rayong Oct. 28. He said the company’s directors were particularly concerned about the lack of sanitation in inundated Ayutthaya, fearing it would cause disease and more suffering.

Company engineers designed a floating toilet that houses a 500-liter tank. Navy officials said the toilets would be sent immediately to Bangkok for dispatch to Ayutthaya.
