Police are searching for two men and a Thai woman who attacked an Italian man in his Thepprasit Soi 4 apartment.

Marco Pietta, 57, suffered serious head injuries, as well as a broken nose, cuts and bruises in the Oct. 22 attack at the HP Apartments. He was placed in intensive care at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya.

Police said they have clear images of the two male attackers entering the apartment and the Thai woman holding a child outside while watching for police. Officers recovered pieces of thick wood used as batons to beat the Italian.

Pattaya Police Superintendent Thummanoon Mankhong speculated that the Thai woman was Pietta’s former girlfriend who hired the two thugs to break into his room to kill him due to jealousy over the Italian’s new girlfriend.
