Police are searching for two men who attempted to rape a Srakaew woman after burglarizing her Pattaya hotel room.

Tossaporn Khamliem, 31, called police to the Yu Charien Guesthouse on Second Road Aug. 18 after awaking to find two men rummaging through her belongings.

Thin, in their early 20s and dressed in black, the intruders had believed she was asleep, but when they saw her awake they threatened her with a knife and tied her to the bed, she said. The victim said they then tried to rape her, but stopped when she told them she was having her monthly period.

The two men stole a mobile phone, notebook computer, camera and 1,000 baht cash before fleeing.
