Police informant shot dead in Laem Chabang

A police informant was shot dead near his Laem Chabang home by a masked gun police suspect was a drug dealer.

Prasert Rangsikul, 38, was pronounced dead on arrival at Laem Chabang International Hospital after midnight Oct. 2. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

A 14-year-old witness told Banglamung Police Prasert had just treated him and some friends to meatballs outside the Laem Chabang national housing project when a man wearing a fully masked motorcycle helmet walked up, called Prasert by name and fired three shots before fleeing on a motorbike.

Police said Prasert was unemployed, but made occasional cash by informing on local drug dealers to police.
