Pattaya steps up AIDS prevention efforts

Pattaya will step up its AIDS prevention and education efforts by handing out free condoms and literature at booths at the Thepprasit Market on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

At an AIDS networking meeting Jan. 25, Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said the city needs to do more to both help prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS as well as care for victims.

The city, he noted, already participates in World AIDS Day each Dec. 1 and plans to increase promotion of AIDS-prevention information.
