Pattaya School No. 4 shows off AEC preparations at open house

Pattaya School No. 4 students showed how prepared they are for the coming ASEAN Economic Community at the city education department’s annual open house.

With the school marching band playing in the background, Principal Yupaporn Thitiworn welcomed Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, city officials and administrators from all Pattaya public schools to the Aug. 6 “36 Years of Progressive Education & Advanced Technology, Ready for AEC” event.

The 76-year-old school used the event to show off the academic prowess of the student body and celebrate the Pattaya Education Department’s 36 years of managing the areas schools. Pattaya was incorporated in 1978.

The open house, which began several years ago and rotates among the city’s schools, included stage performances about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region and a show by kindergarteners on environmental conservation.

Burapha University professor Panphet Romsrai also lectured on the economic community, which begins Jan. 1, educational exhibits, an academic quiz, and activities focusing on nursery schools and school development.

Itthiphol said the open house was a great opportunity to update parents and community members on the city’s education program and management. It also shines a light on Pattaya’s progress in preparing for the economic community.
