Pattaya School No. 3 celebrates 36 years

Pattaya School No. 3 celebrated its 36th anniversary with an open house.

Education Office Director Narong Phewonn and Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome joined city officials and administrators from many of Pattaya’s public schools at the Feb. 28 event.

Founded at Prachaban Tambon Naklua School, School No. 3 was begun in the sermon pavilion of Wat Sawang Fah Pritaram on March 1, 1932. Bunnak Chamnanchanan was the first teacher.

In 1945, Provost Khem, former abbot of Wat Sawang Fah Pritaram, bought land connected to the southern part of the temple for the school. The land is a bit over four rai and was bought for 45 baht to be used for constructing an educational building for classes Prathom 1 to Prathom 4.

The provost also presented an 8-rai, 4-ngan parcel toward the western part of the temple for the school. This land is now used for cremation.

Today, the education center has 5 buildings, canteen and a conference hall, five teacher residences and a 104 bathrooms and toilets.

Academically, there are nine classes in kindergarten level, 24 classes in Prathom 1-6 and 10 classes in Mattayom 1-3.

Niwet Thanaphongphisit, a Hotel Management vocational certificate freshman of Aksorn Technology Pattaya, stated that today he and his friends brought welcome drinks and taught how to make Thai desserts to all interested students.

Lalita Wongyanghang, a high vocational certificate junior from Pattaya Technical College, stated that she and her friends took part in the festivities to teach Pattaya School No. 3 students how to lay tablecloths.

Hathaiphat Maneesaeng, a School No. 3 teacher, said she is proud of all her students, including the alumni, who have arrived to take part in the anniversary festivities to teach their juniors.

Kittisak Khanngern, 12, currently, in 6th grade of Pattaya School No. 3, stated, “I had so much fun today and learned a lot, particularly science since I like science and mathematics. I want to become a scientist when I grow up.”
