Pattaya police nab 4 Latinos for suspect burglary in Samut Prakan

Pattaya police have arrested four Latin Americans accused of hiding out in Pattaya after burglarizing homes in Samut Prakan.

Transnational Crime Coordination Center officers arrested Mexican Catalina Colin Cortes, 32, outside a FedEx office in Pattaya May 19 as she tried to ship a digital camera and other expensive, suspected-stolen, items overseas.

Corness led officers back to the Wilawan Apartments on Thepprasit Road where officers arrested Colombians Wilmer Ferrel Cano Sanchez, 38, and William Fernando Robayo Rico, 38; and Mexican Alejandro Mejia Valdes, 33.

In the apartment, police seized bracelets, computers, cameras, watches, rings, and other electronics.

Police were tipped off to the suspects by investigators from the Bangkaew Police Station in Samut Prakan. Some of the items recovered were claimed by Kanit Kijjathum, whose Bangkaew-area home was burglarized May 6.

The four suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and theft.
