Judges from Pattaya Provincial Court educated about 200 area residents on laws and the legal system at a symposium at city hall.

Judges Suchart Thaninson, Pinyo Mokkhamakul and Suphachai Praphainop lectured Sept. 21 on legal knowledge, government processes, rights and courthouse etiquette. They also offered tips on conducting errands at the courthouse quickly.

Suchart briefed the audience on various projects by Pattaya Provincial Court, including its efforts to rush case evaluation. The court handles an average of more than 80 cases a day and 22,000 a year, he said.

The courthouse operates six days a week. In addition, a Consumer Litigation Center opened Sept. 13 to clear cases on agreements and reconciliation. This followed the opening of a Violence Termination Center and Dispute Mediation and Conciliation Center.
