Phrayao Thongboriboon, 77, was one of those. Unable to walk and suffering from a myriad of illness, Phrayao received a checkup and was given new medication. Doctors also promised her a new pair of eyeglasses.
Doctors and city officials visit the Old Naklua Market neighborhood to administer medicine, provide checkups and give advice to those unable or unwilling to visit a hospital.
In some cases, outreach doctors will insist on hospitalization. Other times they will simply check blood pressure and sugar levels, create medical files for possible later use and review pharmaceutical prescriptions.
