A Pattaya mayoral advisor came to the assistance of two elderly Soi Chaiyapornvitee residents who were abandoned by their families.

Patsakorn Yusomboon and members of the Soi Chaiyapornvitee committee visited Jaroon Sadajai, 59, and Salee Sadajai, 61, in their dilapidated home Feb. 9. Officials found the roof damaged and the yard overgrown into an adjacent parking lot.

Jaroon said he is suffering from cancer and cannot work. Salee said she earns just 70 baht a day by transporting chickens. They have four children, but all have neglected them.
