The region is served by four permanent routes and eight temporary routes. That has boosted tourism, officials said, but also aided drug smugglers. Eradicating the problem requires cooperation from both sides and the Border Liaison Office, they said.
The meeting was aimed at developing collaboration from agencies working in Thai-Cambodian border regions to prevent transport of drugs across borders and a meeting to exchange news, review operations to increase quality of operations.
ONCB Deputy Secretary Sukhum Opasniputh led the meeting.
