The HTMS Jao Klaeng and a patrol boat intercepted the five small boats Oct. 14 near Koh Lanwien, about 1.4 miles off the Sattahip coast. Five Cambodian captains ages 21-26, were charged with illegal fishing and immigration charges.
Navy officials bring in the boats illegally stocked with Cambodian fishermen.
Navy officers said the Cambodians admitted to entering Thailand illegally from Nakhonwat and being hired by a fleet operator in Paknamprasae, Rayong for 2,000-3,000 baht per weekly trip.
Navy officers processed the illegal aliens for deportation while investigating the Rayong boat owner who hired them.
