The semi-annual Navy Security Development meeting Sept. 12 at the Town in Town hotel allowed security officers from 12 regions to offer suggestions on how to improve border operations.
Vice Adm. Chumpol Wongwekhin, director of the Thailand Maritime Enforcement Coordinating Center 1 presides over the meeting.
On the list was anti-drug counseling for government workers and youths, legal education for business owners about employing illegal aliens and their potential security risk, studies on coastal erosion and proposals for new dams in Chachoengsao and Bangkhunthien.
Vice Adm. Chumpol Wongwekhin, director of the Thailand Maritime Enforcement Coordinating Center 1 and officials from the Interior Ministry and National Security Office led the meeting, which regularly monitors the progress of regional security offices on security plans covering various strategies.
Those strategies consist of developing the potential of residents in border communities, strengthening border security, developing border cooperation, and managing regulations.
