Motorbike crash kills birthday party celebrant

A 21-year-old woman died after crashing her motorbike on the way home from a friend’s birthday party.

Patcharin Champafon died of a skull fracture at the accident scene near the Tropicana Hotel on Beach Road around 2 a.m. May 22. Witnesses reported she’d been driving at high speed and lost control after cutting off a pickup truck.

Friends said Patcharin had taken the night off from her job at the Tilac beer bar on Naklua Road to attend a friend’s birthday party. Police speculated she’d been driving drunk without a helmet.
