Anucha Somkhanae, 29, was hospitalized Oct. 10 after paramedics responding to his Banglamung apartment found him covered in blood and his right thumb and index finger on the floor. Medics wrapped the two appendages in ice and secured his penis to prevent it from completely detaching.
Apartment owner Pan Kaebaanpreaw said Anucha’s girlfriend called her for help after returning from work to find her unit’s doors locked. They called for help after finding the bloodied boyfriend inside.
Medics rush Anucha Somkhanae to the hospital hoping to get there in time to save his fingers and his penis.
Anucha’s girlfriend said her lover had been working in South Korea, but was sent home before the contract ended. Since his return, he’d been acting strangely and was extremely possessive of her. She believed his self mutilation was done as a sign of love or devotion.
