Leaking natural gas idled a Sattahip tour bus, but the driver and two attendants escaped without injury.

Authorities were called to Sukhumvit Road near the PTT gas station Oct. 24 on reports an NGV tour bus has leaking and could explode. Firefighters hosed down the scene and an inspection quickly discovered a leaky valve on one of the bus’ three tanks. Officers turned off the valve and there was no further danger.

Driver Bunchob Prasinderm, 45, said he’d stopped to fill up the bus after dropping off passengers when, 200 meters from the station, the vehicle lurched to a stop and gas odors filled the bus. He and the two attendants ran out and called authorities.

Mechanics avert disaster by acting quickly to contain an NGV gas leak aboard this Sattahip tour bus. Mechanics avert disaster by acting quickly to contain an NGV gas leak aboard this Sattahip tour bus.
