Blood seeping from under a hotel room door led to the discovery of a dead Hungarian tourist in Jomtien Beach.

Ivan Zoltan Perenyi, 60, was discovered lying on his bed Aug. 15 by a maid at the guesthouse on Soi 5. Blood was coming from his mouth and nose and his fists were clenched tightly, but there were no other signs of trauma.

Thanaporn Pinthong, 50, said she was taking a new guest to a room around 5:20 a.m. and saw blood coming from under Perenyi’s door. After calling police and opening the door with a spare key, they discovered the dead man had vomited blood before dying.

His body was sent to the Forensics Institute to determine the cause of death and the Hungarian embassy was notified.
