Heavy rain flooded both ends of Pattaya Nov. 19, damaging homes and scrambling city workers to deploy pumps.

Flooding hit Sukhumvit Road in front of Thai Namthip Co. in South Pattaya and Nongyai Temple in North Pattaya, creating a watery entrance to entering the city from either end.

Second and Third roads also got hit, flooding homes in central Pattaya. Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department workers installed pumps to help clear the backlog and resulting traffic snarls.

Unfortunately, this sight is becoming all too common as Pattaya’s infrastructure cannot keep up with heavy rainfall. Unfortunately, this sight is becoming all too common as Pattaya’s infrastructure cannot keep up with heavy rainfall.
