More than a million baht in jewelry and cash were stolen when burglars broke into rooms at a Naklua health spa.

The Nov. 28 burglary at the Healthland Spa & Massage Hotel saw two rooms belonging to Healthland Bangkok-based employees broken into. Suchnee Khunawattana, 45, said she didn’t lose anything, but the room safe in her boss’ adjoining suite was stolen.

Napat Lapprathana, 43, the granddaughter of Healthland’s founder, said gold bars, jewelry, gems and cash totaling about 1 million baht was lost. Napat said she is temporarily managing the Naklua location.

Police believe the burglary to be an inside job and said the thieves escaped into the next building with the 50-by-50 cm safe.
