Green Leaf assesses and awards honors to hotels that meet the program’s goals. Gold-level hotels have fewer than 15% of employees that smoke. Silver-level hotels have 16-25% of their employees who smoke.

Hotels also must offer stop-smoking programs and strictly enforce smoking zones located at least two meters outside hotel buildings.

The Green Leaf Foundation has sponsored many organizations to hold seminars, trainings, disseminate knowledge, and carry out the assessments, including Mahidol University, Tritos Tree School, the Generation Dusit Group, Hilton International Bangkok at Park Nai Lert, Mayfair Inn Co., and Thai Airways International.

Currently there are 715 smoke-free hotels, 219 of which recently joined and 158 hotels having been recognized as a Health Promotion Hotel.
