The meeting focused on guidelines to aid homeless children, particularly those subjected to sexual abuse. ECPAT International agreed to collect data in collaboration with the ministry office. Officials will work with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand to develop child-protection measures.
Officials said homeless children often fall victims to violence and health issues due to a lifestyle that makes them vulnerable to drug addiction, prostitution and crime.
Suphatcha Suthipol, director of the Bureau of Child Promotion and Protection, with Chonburi Deputy Gov. Pornchai Khwansakul presiding in the background, addresses the meeting to improve child protection in Chonburi.
