Police arrested a 17-year-old Thai man for allegedly stabbing an elderly German during a dispute over a parking spot.

Rudy Haneman, 76, suffered a deep wound to the abdomen in the 2 a.m. attack in front of the P.S. Hotel on Beach Road at Soi 13/3.

Shortly after, investigators apprehended the teenager, identified only as “Korn” and his 27-year-old girlfriend at the Kingston Hotel on Sukhumvit Road. The Chachoengsao resident, who earned money as a trash scavenger, was captured with a bloody 10 cm. blade.

Police claim Korn confessed to the stabbing, explaining that he attacked the German in self-defense after two of the senior citizens friends attacked him. The fight started after Korn moved Haneman’s motorbike, which was blocking his exit from a parking spot at the hotel. He said the German got angry that the teen moved his bike and began assaulting him verbally and physically.
