Senior citizens flocked to Pattaya City Hall to register for social security benefits they’d been missing out on.
Elderly residents and the disabled who’ve never received government stipends are being given another opportunity to sign up for the program through Nov. 30. Qualifiers will be announced in December with the first monthly payment sent next October.
Social Development Department Director Pannee Limcharoen said officials are also checking whether those registered to receive payouts had either died or moved out of Pattaya. Those relocating outside the city would have to reregister for social security benefits in their new hometown.
