Education ministers welcomed to Pattaya

Before education ministers from 11 Southeast Asian countries got down to business at their annual council meeting, they enjoyed a party where local officials introduced them to Pattaya.

Chonburi Governor Khomsan Ekachai welcomed the delegates from the 48th Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Council Conference at an opening night party at the Zign Hotel May 6.

A video presentation highlighting life in Pattaya and Thailand was shown to introduce delegates to cultural and tourism attractions of this region.

Students from Pattaya School No. 9 put on various musical and dramatic stage performances.

The 48th SEAMEC was held May 6-9 at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group. It is an international organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture.

This was the eighth time Thailand has hosted the meeting.

Thai traditional performances were among the highlights of the event.
