The body of a newborn child was found dead in a wooded area near the Million Years Stone Park and Crocodile Farm.

The infant was wrapped in white plastic inside a black bag in the Nong Plalai jungle Oct. 16. There were no signs of assault and authorities said the child had been dead for about a day.

Nong Plalai street sweeper Bunthrong Rakkhwamsukh, 45, found the baby.

Near the body, police also found the notebook of a schoolboy who’d left school two years ago. Officers doubt he is related to the crime, but plan to interview him as part of the investigation. Investigators at this point believe the child’s mother was an unmarried teenager.
