Pakorn Sukhonthachat and doctors from Banglamung Hospital called on Rachan Khantasom June 7 at his home. Also a volunteer at a local temple, Rachan is completely paralyzed, on a feeding tube and must have mucus drained by machine from his throat.
A medical team performs therapy on the paralyzed Rachan Khantasom, formerly a city civil defense volunteer.
Officials from the Social Welfare Department demonstrated for Rachan’s family various therapy procedures and donated some money to help cover expenses.
Rachan’s parents qualified for the city’s medical outreach program as his father is a contractor and mother a food vendor. Both quit their jobs to tend to their 32-year-old son, leaving them with no outside income.
