Pattaya officials and the Provincial Electrical Authority are continuing efforts to clean up the city’s messy utility wires, this time on Thepprasit Soi 8.

City Councilman Banlue Kullavanijaya met with PEA and city Sanitation Department workers Nov. 22, along with representatives of telephone and cable-television companies.

The meeting was the second about the soi since Aug. At the latest session, Banlue called on PEA to set a date and time when dead wires would be removed and live cables tidied up.

Banlue again reminded telephone and cable TV operators that the electric company needs them to check and label active lines. Any unmarked cables will be removed by the electric company.

when are these dangerous things in major urban centres across the country going to be buried underground? It would be so much nicer not to have such eyesores in sight.
