The project aims at preventing drug use among college students as a way to reduce the widespread drug use in the general population.
Deputy Gov. Pongsak Preechawit launched the “Volunteer Leaders Anti-Drug Project” at Pattaya Technical College in Nongket Yai.
The Chonburi Education Office implements strategies by involving as many agencies, sectors and organizations in campaigns as possible. The project is supported by the Chonburi Command Centre for Drugs Elimination, Chonburi Office of Provincial Vocational Education and heads of vocational schools consisting of deputy directors for student activities promotion, and teachers responsible for student activities of vocational colleges in Chonburi.
The goal is to train 100 student volunteers, two from each college, and students at Pattaya Technical College who are members of the To Be No. 1 program. The student volunteers to be trained will play the leadership roles in preventing and solving drug problems in college and amongst others in the same age group.
