Chonburi launches recycling banks

Chonburi city officials have launched a community recycling bank program to encourage residents to separate their garbage and reduce the load on area landfills.

Recycling banks have already been launched in the Wat Ton Sin-Wat Nern, and Plee Pier neighborhoods.

The city is working to educate residents on correct methods of disposing garbage, exchanging ideas on discarding waste within communities, and organizing activities regarding waste disposal.

Mayor Decho Khongchayasukhwat said the problems and effects of garbage are important environmental issues with high potential in increasing in severity.
