Chachoengsao students observe Pattaya government’s workings

A group of Chachoengsao university students were given a chance to observe Pattaya’s administration as they prepare to become government leaders.

Led by Assistant Professor Nobaporn Khunkha, the 170 humanities and social-science freshmen from Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University arrived at Pattaya City Hall March 5 to hear a lectures on Pattaya’s history and missions from consumer litigator Thummanoon Hinkhum.

Thummanoon explained the city’s election process, mayoral term, council makeup and legal structure. He also reviewed population and tourist figures, main industries, the education system and community structure.

After the lecture, Thummanoon led the group to the Pattaya City Council hall to observe its workings before their mid-day departure.

Student Satreerat Khaekpong, 20, said she was impressed and has learned a lot about administration she can use during the course.

Saksrot Bunkerdma, 20, said this was his first visit to Pattaya and now has a better understanding of its workings.

Instructor Nobaporn Khunkha said many of his students had never been to Pattaya and he wanted them to widen their perspectives.
