Central Festival Pattaya Beach employees practiced how to handle electrical, gas and oil fires during an emergency-preparedness drill at the beachfront mall.

Central regional director Saran Tantijamnaj opened the Nov. 27 training session with police and store executives on hand.

Saran oversaw the training, which focused on combating fires started from sources including gasoline, oil, cooking gas and electrical shorts.

He said the mall organizes four training sessions a year due to its belief in the importance of safety. The training and practice session has been organized for the benefit of employees who would be faced with protecting shoppers.

Employees and trainers gather for a group photo after the training session. Employees and trainers gather for a group photo after the training session.
