Central Festival lights area’s tallest Christmas tree

Central Festival Pattaya Beach lit the tallest Christmas tree in the region to welcome the holiday and bid farewell to 2012.

Banglamung District Chief Chawalit Saeng-Uthai and Pattaya Deputy Mayor Ronakit lit the 25-meter-tall tree with Central Pattana regional manager Sanran Tantijamnaj and other community leaders Dec. 22.

The mall’s “Christmas Wonder” gift festival offered surprises and special activities during the month, as well as visits with Santa Claus and holiday lights.

The event featured a Christmas parade with Santa and his lovely Santarinas, and marchers dressed as elves, presents, reindeer, candy canes, toy soldiers

During the promotion, customers spending 1,000 baht or more get a chance to win a 55 percent discount on a Ford Fiesta. Five discounted cars are on offer, as well as smaller prizes, through Jan. 13.
