Buddhist amulet show in Pattaya Oct. 27-28

Pattaya will host a Buddhist amulet preservation show Oct. 27-28 at the Pattaya Indoor Stadium, offering collectors a chance at professional evaluations.

Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome and Numchaichana Deewee, president of the Eastern Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association, announced the Amulets and Medallions Preservation Exhibition Oct. 4.

The event will allow amulet and image owners to obtain certification of their items for the 300 baht entry fee. In addition, they can enter their items into a contest to be judged. Items will be photographed and certificates issued within 45 days.

The exhibition will offer 55 tables and 1,912 programs. The winner of each program will receive a 1995 Provost Kasem Khaemko amulet from Trailak Cemetery in Lampang.

The prize for winner of 5 tables and above will win a book on Provost Toa of Wat Khaokradon in Rayong, a value of 2,500 baht.

Winners in all categories will receive trophies from the Pattaya mayor including silver image of Phra Kring. The prizes for general, outstanding, most popular images will receive trophies and a 32-inch television.
