British-Thai couple arrested on football betting charges

A British-Thai couple has been arrested for allegedly running a football-betting operation out of their Jomtien Beach pub.

Anthony James McNally, 57, and Thitima Kaeohueang, 29, were arrested at Maggie May’s bar & restaurant June 17 after a foreigner cooperating with police allegedly placed a 2,000 baht bet on the Holland-Portugal Euro 2012 match.

Police said McNally confessed to taking bets on football to supplement income from the restaurant he has owned for 10 years.

    Haven't the police got anything better to do? It's not like the people were being forced to bet.
