A teenager rope swinging into Mabprachan Reservoir died when he jumped too far out and drowned.

Sawang Boriboon Foundation rescuers pulled the body of Rattapol Kaetthong, 13, from the Pong lake Feb. 11.

Witnesses said Rattapol and his friends had tied a rope to a neem tree to swing and jump into the lake. The victim apparently made too big a jump and became fatigued while swimming in and drowned.

The boy’s younger brother could not rescue him and called for help. By that time, it was too late.
