Banglamung chief promoted to Chonburi permanent secretary

Bureaucrats and political officials congratulated outgoing Banglamung District Chief Chawalit Saeng-Uthai as he took office as Chonburi’s new permanent secretary.

Pattaya Deputy Mayor Wattana Chantanawaranon led the list of well-wishers at the Jan. 9 farewell party at Garden Sea View Hotel. Others offering kudos include Nongprue Mayor Mai Chaiyanit and Banglamung Police Superintendent Col. Somnuk Changate.

Chawalit took over Chonburi’s top civil-bureaucratic post Jan. 7 with provincial leaders and village heads presenting flowers. In Banglamung, Permanent Secretary Amnart Charoensri succeeded Chawalit as district chief.

Chawalit was born on March 26, 1962 in Bangkok and first served the government on July 1, 1985 as permanent secretary of Administrative District 3 in Roi-et. He took over in Banglamung May 2, 2011.
