Australian police donate equipment to Thai counterparts

Australian law enforcement officials donated 300,000 baht in equipment to Thailand Region 2 police and pledged to work more closely to apprehend criminals from down under.

Corey Wiggett, Australian Federal Police Office coordinator at the Australian embassy in Bangkok, presented two motorcycles, cameras, computers and a printer/scanner to Region 2 Superintendent Maj. Gen Kosol Phuawes and Banglamung Police Station Superintendent Col. Somnuk Janthages at the Children and Women Protection Center June 11.

During the visit, the two sides exchanged information and pledged cooperation on cases involving Australian citizens. Of particular interest, Wiggett said, were cases of sexual assault or human trafficking.
