The forum, organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific was originally scheduled to be held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok, but was moved to Pattaya due to continued political unrest in the capital.
The preparation meeting today was organized to assign various responsibilities for safety emergencies and management of the conference site.
Cherdkiat requested agencies in Chonburi and Pattaya manage and maintain safety and order within and around Royal Cliff Grand Hotel and Region 2 Police prepare safety measures with Tourist, Marine and Highway police.
He informed the meeting that the conference is a meeting of leaders and ministers and requested the Department of Protocol to meet with minor agencies, Royal Thai Police and others regarding security.
