Phanomphrai explained that the Chonburi Immigration Office has conducted language training and installed technology to accommodate three languages, although he admitted the private sector is needed to donate or pay for more technology.

He said hotels and guesthouses have been educated on how to register tourists, which makes monitoring blacklisted individuals easier.

Somnuk said Banglamung and Royal Thai Police officials are focusing on popular tourist destinations and reviewing statistics on crimes committed by foreigners. He said an analysis of two years of crime statistics will be presented to top RTP officials to draft an interagency strategy on how to combat and control foreign criminals.

Oh yeah ! the snatch and grab thieves are easy but when the real criminals come along, it is an entirely new ballgame. CCTV cameras not working, poor pictures, crime scene activity by stragglers, questionable autopsy reports, and the educated bad guys are\usually gone before anyone, particularly the police, even know a crime has been committed. Has anyone seen the NON armoured trucks used to tranfer bank cash ?
