In a program to train village volunteers to safeguard the public from the perils of illicit drugs and criminals who deal in them, a training program was initiated to give the security personnel basic and advanced knowledge in the use of weapons.
Manus Suwannarin, senior district administrator, presided over the training session for 150 members of the “Lions Protect the Public” security unit held at the Royal Thai Marines Jessada Camp in Sattahip.

Chawat Theptup, administrative specialist for security said, “The strategic plan to solve the illegal-drugs problems in 2015 calls for the clear and noticeable reduction of drug dealers. This program unites volunteers to help the government sector do their duty effectively and maintain peace and security in our communities.”
He said he was confident that participants in the weapons-training program will share their knowledge with other volunteers and “dedicate themselves to the task of eradicating drugs dealers from the communities of Sattahip.”
