Kan Somyos, in his early 20s, died in the emergency room at Pattaya Memorial Hospital around 3:30 a.m. April 30. He suffered a single fatal gunshot to the chest.
Investigators questioned Kan’s 20-year-old brother Weerapan and learned that they and 10 others had been hanging out at Bali Hai for a couple hours after the music festival wrapped when three men on two motorbikes cruised by and opened fire.
Weerapan said he had seen the men earlier and exchanged words.
Police Superintendent Col. Thummanoon Mankhong ordered interrogations of gang members and closed-circuit television footage to try and identify the shooters.
